The Lipstick Tag

I was so, so excited when I saw that suelovexx tagged me to write up this post. Lippies have always been my favourite makeup product, so yeah, look. I am happy I now have an excuse to write up this post ahhahaha.

1. How many lipsticks do you own?
This is really embarassing. Over 50. not including lipglosses or lipbalms.

2. What was the first lipstick you owned?
I honestly have no idea whatsoever. Probably one my mum passed on to me for dress ups when I was a kid. We always had some to play with, although I was pretty terrible at applying it, and would get it all over my lips. I remember one time Mum told us we were going to Coles in about 15 minutes. So I thought I'd "get ready" like an adult, as you do. And for some reason, that just meant putting on bright red lipstick. That day I did apply it really well (for a little kid without a mirror), and I think I was allowed to wear it to the shops, after I complained when I was told to take it off. I was pretty happy that day.

3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?
MAC have some beautiful finishes. Unfortunately I only own one MAC lippy. This is a really hard question. I don't like to play favourites. Although I do really like Maybelline's lippies.

4. What is your most worn lipstick?
Uhhhhhhm, my top three are: Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple and Berry Smoothie, and Maybelline ColourSensational in Are You Red-dy

5. What is your favourite finish?
I really agree with Sue, in that I mostly look for whether or not it's hydrating and how long lasting it is, rather than what the finish is.

6. What was the last lipstick you bought?
I haven't actually bought any in a while. I think it might have been a Maybelline Colour Whisper in 'Who Wore it Red-er'

7. How many lip products do you currently have in your bag?
3.... I just dug out the Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple, and I have a Bourjois Colour Boost in Red Sunrise, and a Nivea lip balm.

8. What is your favourite red lip colour?
This is probably the hardest question, ever. Red is my favourite shade, so it's really hard for me to pick a favourite. I recently did a post on my top 6 reds though, so you can read that here

9. How do you store your lipsticks?
I store all my make-up in a chrome drawer set I got from officeworks, and all my lip products live in one drawer of that. They are currently sorted by product type with little containers I got from Daiso, and with the old Bellabox containers.

10. Which lipsticks are you currently lusting after?
I am waiting impatiently for the new Revlon Lip Butters to finally hit stores. The display has been empty for weeks now and it is killing me.
I would love to own some more MAC lippies, and YSL and Chanel are both also on my wishlist. Unfortunately I cannot justify that expense at this stage of my life, so maybe one day, but not today.

The Book Lovers Tag

I saw this post on Vanilla Crush, and it looked like the type of tag I just had to do. Let me know if you take part in it, I would love to read everyone's answers!

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?

I've loved reading my entire life. My mum's a bookwork and I always got books as gifts when I was little so I think it was just instilled in me from a young age. Mum actually says she remembers when I was a toddler, and I would crawl up next to her bookcase and just flick through the books on the bottom shelf, which I think is pretty funny.

Where do you usually read?
On my daily commute, and right before I fall asleep :)

Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?
A little bit of both, to be honest. I used to have a book I would read on the way to uni and then one I would read before bed; I really like having options. Some days I  might not feel like reading that romance novel, and might switch to the thriller instead. But since having my e-reader, I've tended to stick to reading one at a time, which is interesting.

What is your favourite genre?
This is really tricky! I adore crime (fiction and non-fiction) and that was pretty much all I read as a teenager, with a few classics sprinkled here and there. I think I OD'd on the genre though, and I branch out a lot more now that I'm older. I've really been enjoying dystopian reads, as well as dramas and lighthearted books. At the moment I kind of just check what the bestselling books are and pick one I think looks interesting.

Is there a genre you will not read?
I refuse to read harlequin romances.

Do you have a favourite book?
I think that has to be a tie between The Catcher in the Rye and To Kill a Mockingbird. There are so many books on my shelf that I love, though.

What is your least favourite book?

I cannot finish books I don't enjoy reading. This could be because either the writing itself is terrible (Twilight, I'm looking at you), or the actual story itself. I really disliked Emma by Jane Austen; had to read that one in high school and I hated every minute of it.

What is the longest book you have ever read?
I read War and Peace when I was a teenager, so I think that one's a pretty hefty read.
The Game of Thrones books are also quite substantial, especially if you consider that number 3 was split in two because it was so big!

What was the last book you bought?
I think it was the A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin

Do you prefer library books or buying books?
I love buying books; I love wandering the bookstores and lately I even love browsing the online bookstores for e-books. I haven't visited a library in years actually, but I used to practically live there when I was a child.

What are you currently reading?
A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin, and Big Brother by Lionel Shriver

TAG: 5 Minute Makeup Challenge!

I've decided to do the 5 minute makeup challenge tag that's been floating around Youtube.
(In other news: check out the massive bitch face going on in that thumbnail!)

It's exactly what it sounds like; do a full face of makeup in 5 minutes or less. The challenge was a bit easier than I thought it would be, but you definitely feel a bit pressured as the timer counts down!

Check out how I went here:

How long does it take you to put on make-up in the mornings?
