My Week in Pictures #34

This week has been a bit full on! I headed back to uni, for the second semester of my penultimate year (it's getting way too real now...!) I'm so thankful I only had to buy two textbooks this year, bringing the bill to just over $300, instead of the usual $600. The UOW Law Society ordered some cute hoodies in, and being quite partial to a hoodie myself, had to snatch one up.
I didn't get much of a holiday break this year...we moved house, which is always a stressful experience, and I worked heaps. I went back to uni this week working full time...am glad to go back down to my regular 22 hours now! Despite heading back feeling unrefreshed and still kinda stressed, I'm really excited for my subjects. I'm taking Evidence (which, admittedly is actually kinda dry), IP law, and Power and the Modern State. I think it's so much easier to do well at subjects you enjoy.




I've been obsessssssed with berry lips this week, with this Revlon Lip Butter in Red Velvet being on my lips at all times.
I also picked myself up a really cute goose charm for my Thomas Sabo bracelet...really disappointed to notice last night though that his beak is no longer orange??

I spent Saturday night in Newtown, celebrating a friend's birthday. We had dinner and drinks, then headed over to the Marly Bar for a quick drink before heading home. Surprisingly, Mike Whitney's band (who knew!?) was playing. They did a heap of fun covers, and I may or may not have been called up on stage to sing Teenage Dirtbag. I also may or may not have been quite drunk.

My Week in Pictures #24

MAN. It was a BIG week last week. Which, hopefully, will explain why I hardly got any posts up. There just isn't enough hours in the day!

On Monday night I met up with some of the other girls in the Sydney blogging community! K from Teacup Grunge helped with the organising, and we got everyone to meet up at Din Tai Fung at World Square for dumplings. Can I just mention here...BEST DUMPLINGS EVAH.

Unfortunately, the quality of this photo isn't that great. That's what happens when you ask randoms on the street to take a photo with a camera too complicated for them. Anyway, it was really great meeting most of the girls for the first time after stalking their blogs for the last 2 years. Like Laura mentioned on her blog, it really did feel more like old friends having dinner rather than a meet up for the first time. 

 

On Tuesday I got a much-needed haircut, and on Wednesday my bestie took me to Blink 182 for my 21st. Life made. 

 

Our microwave broke, so we bought a new one. Rommy is having a great time playing in the gigantic box, and I cooked my first fishy! 

On Sunday we headed out to Sydney Olympic Park for Soundwave, so here are some snaps from the day:

The vandals were effing crazy, 

Flogging Molly had to play an acoustic set on instruments that weren't theirs due to the flooding and missing trucks. Unfortunately, Garbage didn't get to play. 

Hanging out. After a trip to First Aid (goddamn you lungs!), and convincing the first aid people that I did not need to go to the hospital, we took it easy listening to APC. Then we hung around for a bit waiting for Blink to start their set.

What's your best festival memory? It seems like every year I go to SW something gets messed up!

Eye of the Night - Blink 182

On Wednesday night, my bestie took me to Blink 182 as an early 21st present - I cannot even put into words how excited I was for this event. This was the culmination of my entire childhood, my teenage years, my entire life basically.

Anyway. I'll talk more about this in another post. I decided to go with a dark smokey eye for the event. Dramatic eyes, for a dramatic night. I used colours exclusively from the Naked palette (man has that palette been getting some lovin' from me lately!)

My Week in Pictures #17

I didn't get up to much last week.
I've started at my new job and am loving it! Being surrounded by beautiful stationery is kind of a dream come true for me!
Also tried my hand at curling my hair. I've always had boring, straight hair so this is nice for something different.

 

On Saturday night, my friend Meg and I went to see our mate's band play (bottom photo) at the Brighton Up Bar on Oxford Street. Just being there reminded me how much I love live music and why I need to get back into going to see gigs. 

There was this girl dancing in front of us, who was obviously really drunk. She looked like she was having such a great time though, and was so happy. Even little things like that just make the night great and provide entertainment. 

New pole trick! Learnt the 'Scorpio' or "inside leg hang". It's super pretty - just need to work on that hip flexor flexibility. 

Also a bit of sneaky street poling...

Went and saw The Perks of Being a Wallflower with Meg on Friday night. Excellent, excellent movie. Even if you haven't read the book (which you should!) you need to see this film. The cast is great, the story is brilliant and it definitely does the book justice.

My Debut Pole Performance...

Last Friday night my pole studio held its Open Night! This is basically a night run to showcase student and teacher performances, and show our family and friends what we get up to each week. They get a chance to spin around on the poles and see just how difficult it really is.

I performed for the first time, with my friend Laura. I thought I'd share some photos and the video of our performance from the night. All credit for photos and videos goes to Studio Verve. Grateful for..

It sounds insane, but I'm so thankful for all the cold weather we've been having!
I honestly am not much of a fan of the heat, and would much prefer to snuggle up in bed with J and a good tv show. That, and drinking coffee and tea in the heat is not as much fun as when it's cold!

Family BBQ dinners!!
I do love a good barbeque. The one thing I miss about moving out is not being able to have my own anymore. I love that smokey, charcoaley taste of meat. I love BBQ'd onions.
I love being able to catch up with my siblings and my dad's kitty cat...

Hehehe! Cute, squished Furby face.

 And although I host an unbelievable hatred towards Sydney Buses, I was grateful that this night I waited at the bus stop and was able to watch the hundreds of bats flying over head, on their way to hunt their food!
The above picture is not that great, but all those black spots? Bats!

3rd chances. 

This is the 3rd Jury summons I have received in the mail this year!! Clearly our justice system wants me bad. 

So excited that I'll actually be able to attend this one though, as it's in January!

I am the only person I know of (besides my other crazy law-school friends) who has taken pleasure in receiving this letter in the mail. 

And I am grateful for unscheduled concerts!!

My friend Thom asked me to accompany him to see Opeth at the Enmore Theatre on Friday! It was totally unplanned, because his girlfriend got sick, which is unfortunate for her, but super fortunate for me because he had a spare ticket!

The show was amazing.
