Not too bad, and I think I managed a few hours sleep, even if it was restless sleep.
Unfortunately we got aisle seats, and got stuck next to an obese couple. The lady kept elbowing J throughout the entire flight, and the man had an incredibly loud chesty cough. It was quite uncomfortable, and felt like it could have been a scene straight out of a sitcom. And although it will probably be a funny story later, it wasn't very funny at the time.
Anywayyyy, on to the more exciting part of the post!!
PHOTOS OF OUR TRIP!!
We took a grand total of 587. Impressive, huh!
But I obviously won't bore you with all of them, all at once.
Breakfast before boarding our flight to Darwin!
Scones with latte's.
Untangling headphones, getting ready to watch some Breaking Bad.
Chilling on the plane.
Sydney from way up high.
So we arrived in Bali quite late on the Monday night, and after heading out to buy some bottled water (because you can't drink the tap water over there), we pretty much headed straight to bed. We spent the next morning checking out the hotel...
Excited shot in front of our room! Seriously, the place we stayed was like a tropical paradise! We were in Seminyak, which is just north of Kuta. It was pretty crazy how different it was walking into the hotel from off the street. The noise immediately lessened, and the place was like our own private sanctuary!
We spent the first day checking out Kuta..
Fish spa treatment!
I am incredibly impressed with how smooth and nice my hands and feet are after letting these little guys suck off all the dead skin for 20 minutes.
If you get the chance to do this, DO IT!
It's a little ticklish at first, but once you get used to the tingling it's easy to relax into it. I think it felt a bit like wearing a vibrating sock.
Walking around near Kuta beach.
We spent the afternoon chilling at the hotel pool...
We ordered some poolside bar service and watched the sunset...
And chased a little froggy...
That night we headed to Tulip restaurant, which was just across the road from our hotel.
Drinks.
Amazing salmon.
J had spring rolls, and a few other entree dishes as his main.
We spent the next day in Kuta again, but this time at the waterpark, Waterbom.
Amazingly fun rides there.
We explored Kuta a bit more afterwards, checking out the Discovery centre.
Much to our joy, there was a CBA ATM right near Waterbom so we were able to get money out.
We had no idea how to use the Bali ATM's, but after a few practices, we understood it all pretty well.
Bali has their own version of the Slingshot!
We didn't go on it, but I thought the "Kiss your arse goodbye" sign was funny, and warranted a photo.
More drinks and food...
Stay tuned for more posts and more photos!!
