Wordless Wednesday: Lest We Forget

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

ANZAC day pin.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

My Week...

New accomplishments!

Fucking over this rain.
Got caught in torrential rain on Tuesday morning. My poor leather jacket is now so tough, needs some serious conditioning.
Also, waiting at freezing cold train stations is never fun.

Fucking sick of studying
Uni is kicking my ass at the moment.

Remind me again why I thought law school was a good idea?

FUCK THAT.

My Week in Pictures #3

How are you all? I hope you had a fantastic Easter break!
On Wednesday night I unfortunately came down with strep throat. When I was in high school - and mostly throughout year 12 - I was afflicted with tonsillitis constantly.
Stress = poor immune system = very sick Michaela.

Luckily I wasn't affected by it as badly as I used to be, but the anti-biotics I'm on are really strong and completely wiped me out.
So I spent all Easter in bed. Fun, hey.

Anti-biotics are eviiiiiil
There was a lot of knitting going on (my scarf is so close to being finished - yay!)
and a lot of Gilmore Girls-watching. Don't judge me, that show is amazing.

It also meant that I missed out on uni on Thursday. So I wrote apology emails to my lecturers and tutors...

I think I should get marks just for writing in (almost total) Chinese!!

Last Tuesday was my mum's birthday, but because we're all so busy during the week, we had a belated birthday celebration on the Friday night.
I downed a heap of caffeine for energy, and set out to cook some amazing food for the family

Just cooking away in my apron.

My little sister made up this really cute menus for everyone.

This was the AMAZING, INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS (almost orgasmic) Main meal - sticky whiskey chicken.

I got the recipe here, from Blithely Unaware.
I'm such a noob when it comes to cooking, but this was easy, so filling and had everyone asking how I suddenly got to be so amazing in the kitchen.

Last night I enjoyed watching the lightning display from my warm snuggly bed, and listening to the hail falling on my roof. Noisy.

Also - Instagram was released on Android!!
Having so much fun with this app!

Organisation Tips! - Drawers

Does anyone else's drawers looks like this?
It was driving me absolutely CRAZY having to constantly re-fold EVERYTHING every time I put washing away, so today I thought "enough is enough" and set out to re-organise it.

Drawing inspiration from the way I file away notes and other important docs, I cleaned everything out and started again.
This is the finished product:

Not only is it a million times easier and a million times nicer looking, it fits double the amount of clothes that piling them on top of each other does.

This is how I folded it all, so you can do the same to your drawers!

(from left to right)

1. Lay your shirt / cardi / whatever out on a nice flat surface.
I used my bed.
2. Fold the arms in to the centre.
3. Fold the left side into the centre

4. Fold the right side into the centre
5. Fold the bottom side up
6. Fold the top half under
(if bulky. If not bulky, e.g. a t-shirt you can also fold on top)

EASY PEASY LEMON-SQUEEZY.

I can't believe I hadn't thought of it earlier!!
It also works for shorts and jumpsuits and things:

However, because there's so much more fabric to pants they're a little more difficult.
So I just piled them like I used to.
I still save so much more room this way, and shorts are super easy to access without messing up my pants!

Gearing up for Winter....

So with winter right around the corner (my favvvvvvourite season), I have taken advantage of some pre-season sales and stocked up on jumpers and coats and the like:

Navy striped jumper.
From Dotti.

I really love the button detailing, I think it makes it a little more interesting.
However, it makes it hard to wear to uni because that's right where my backpack straps sit.
Ouch!

Also from Dotti.
It's more of a brown-y colour IRL.

Tartan shawl from ASOS.
J thought I was wearing a blanket.
Clearly he has no idea about fashion.

The warmest, most snuggly coat ever!!
Also from ASOS.
Loveeeeee the colour, the deep pockets, the faux leather trim, and faux fur neckline.

This is seriously so effing snuggly.
It's like wearing a furry animal around your neck.

SKINS socks.
Now that winter is back, so is reffing!! I'm so prone to shin splints, and decided to try these out.
They're working pretty well so far!

Not exactly winter specific, but I finally caved and bought laser hair removal.
Have had my first session already, but again it is too early to comment.
Will update later, I'm sure!

Winter is easily my favourite season for fashion.
Have you bought any new winter clothes yet?
