Recently, in Pictures #57

How did it become October so quickly?

In less than 6 weeks I will have finished my final exams, and be finished with my Undergrad degrees. I've been precariously balancing studying for my undergrad with my postgrad diploma, as well as working long hours at two jobs. It will all be worth it when I have those three, very expensive, bits of paper though. Or so I tell myself.
Unwinding with frivolous reading and beautiful candles has been a necessity.

J's brother and sister-in-law stayed with us last weekend. We finally got around to checking out Cornersmith in Marrickville. J had the poached eggs, I had the meatloaf. All produce is locally sourced, which is awesome. So many noms.

Rommy, always sleeping on clean washing. We recently discovered he actually really likes hiding on top of the fridge, which is super naughty. The first time we caught him up there was hilarious - we were kind of in shock to see him up there, and he knew he was being naughty. As soon as we called out his name, he sheepishly jumped down and ran away to hide so he wouldn't get in trouble hahaha.

Finally getting the "hang" part of handstanding. I am perfectly fine freebalancing in front of a wall now. Take away that wall though, and it's like my hips completely forget how to go over my head.

The pole studio I attend has a show on next week at the Factory Theatre, called "Elements". I'm helping out on the night as a pole cleaner, so have been lucky enough to attend all the rehearsals. Oh my god, talk about inspiring. Watching all these incredible dancers has kicked my butt into gear, and I'm training lots and lots lately. Not for anything in particular, just to push my own strength.

In beauty news, I was lucky enough to attend Colour Theory's launch of their new skincare line, Skin Theory. The launch was on the brand's first birthday, so there were lots of fun things, like a make-up bar, nail bar and brow bar. I am won over by all their pretty spring nail polish colours - and $4 each!!
I also have so many new and exciting things to share on the blog in the upcoming months. New packages, new products, new looks...

The weather has been so warm and beautiful lately, I cannot even explain how happy the sun is making me (although I am apparently very deficient in Vit D according to my Dr so maybe that's why?) Spring is my favourite season, ever. And our mulberry tree started fruiting again - yum!

And the doggies played in the NRL Grand Final last night against the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Ran into my little bro in the street so of course had to get a selfie with him, of us both wearing our jerseys.
I watched the game with my cousin at the Erko...which is in South Sydney land. Things got awkward being the only blue jersey in the pub... I felt very outnumbered haha.
We sadly lost, but I like the Rabbits so it's not all bad.

My (Last two) weeks in pictures #37

Have had a mountain of uni work and assignments keeping me from doing the things I love...like blogging. So this week I will be catching you all up on my past two weeks!

I worked at the election last Saturday, and was super happy to show off my pale-skinned legs. Hooray Spring is here!

I bought some flowers to brighten up my desk space.

I was thrilled to see we are stocking '500 Words of Wisdom' at work, and snatched up a copy straight away. I also enjoyed some tea with my cute new strainer.

In fitness news...

I finally kicked up the nerves to lay back in the Remi Sit. This move is not hard, but extremely owwie. I also ventured out of the house for a run ... my first run since I took a break from refereeing in March. My cardio has a lot of work to go.

I played around with some balancing on the grass afterwards.  Words can't even explain my excitement at getting a free balancing headstand.

On Thursday night, I got some drinks and dinner with my bestie. She took me to Tio's..an awesome mexican tequila bar in Surry Hills. We got salted beers and lots of free popcorn.

On Friday night I went out to Darling Harbour and saw the Blue Man Group at the Lyric Theatre. Amazing, amazing show. So glad I got to see it!

Saturday was J's birthday, so we headed in to Newtown for Japanese at Iiza. We'e been to this restaurant a few times, and everytime it is amazing. I didn't snap photos of all the meals, because I was starving, but below is a shot of the teriyaki duck and our desserts - creme brulee and a molten chocolate cake. Decadent!

So... I ate out 3 nights in a row. So indulgent! What was the most indulgent thing you did this week?

My Week in Pictures #36

Wore my hair curly...to J's surprise it wasn't for any special occassion, but merely because I had some extra time in the morning.
Rommy has taken sitting on our shoulders to a whole new level, and perched himself up on my arm. Cutie cat.

Dropped into L'occitane to pick up my dad a father's day gift...and to pick myself up one of their new serums.  I also decided to try the local bike track, on my way to my dad's place and was pleasantly surprised that it goes along parks and rivers. So peaceful!

FINALLY GOT THAT PENCIL DOWN MOTHERIUCKERS GUYS!
I have been working on this move for a solid 6 months. Probably longer. Nothing quite beats that rush of adrenaline of achieving something you've worked so hard on.
Check out my instagram for videos!

Oh Sydney, you have blessed us with beautiful weather the past week! Spring is OFFICIALLY here, and I am too keen. I took my studies outside in the backyard. Very pleased to report the tree that overhangs our yard is starting to get its leaves back. Winter is over, yo!

Nommed on a croissant while catching up with one of the girls at work who has practically left us *sob*
Also seriously lusting over these teacups in T2...just saying, if you feel like buying me one, go right ahead.

This one really needs no words.
