Haul: Priceline 40% off.

Priceline recently had one of their famous 40% off sales. I had been eyeing off some stuff, and this was perfect timing to pick it up.

I only ever go into priceline with a list when these sales are on, otherwise there's the potential for things to get out of hand.

So I ended up getting:
- Revlon Colourstay cream foundation
- 3 Rimmel 'The One' lipsticks
- 4 Revlon Ultra HD Matte lipsticks
- 3 Essie nail colours
- Rimmel 'Brow this Way' brow powder kit.

And, I didn't pick this up in the sale, but I recently purchased the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm, after hearing for months about how great it is as a primer. I'm not convinced yet, but still testing it so we'll see.

Did you pick up anything in the Priceline sales?

Lush Bathbomb and Bubble Bars Haul

I love taking baths - they're relaxing, and they ensure you get about an hour of just "me" time, to pamper yourself, read a book and zone out from the real world.

I picked up some more bath bombs from Lush a few weeks ago -

Twilight Bath Bomb: This is one of Lush's best-sellers, and I've read so many reviews on this one that I had to try it. The scent is really relaxing, so I'm hoping it will carry through and be a really relaxing bath.

Sex Bomb: I've written about this bath bomb before, and I loved it so much the first time I used it that I just had to get another one. I love the colours this turns my bath, and I love how moisturised my skin is after using it. I also really love how good my bathroom smells.

While in Lush I thought it would be a good idea to pick up some bubble-making bars, because as J says "baths aren't baths without bubbles". I think these are probably a bit better value than the bathbombs, because they can be used multiple times.

Pop in the Bath Bubble Bar: This has lemon, bergamont and mandarin, which sounds really refreshing and rejuvenating.

Sunny Side Bubble Bar: I was partly attracted to this one because of how pretty it is, partly because of the citrus-y scent it gives off.

I can't wait to hop into a bath and try these new ones out.

What is your favourite Lush bath product?

Haul: Dusty Girls Make-up Products*

A few weeks ago I wrote about some skincare products that I was sent from Moogoo.
Dusty Girls is the make-up products "farmed by Moogoo" - these products are all created with the same principles from their skincare line; products for people with sensitive skin, with honesty about what ingredients are used.

I was sent the Natural Mineral Blush in "Pink Ladies" and the Natural Mineral Bronzer in "Sunshine".

"Pink ladies" is a sweet pink colour that looks really natural on my complexion. The blush is not overly pigmented, which is good if you're looking for a flush of colour to brighten up your complexion. There are some shimmery, almost glittery particles in the pan. I found these don't really transfer to your skin to look like glitter, but it does provide a bit of shimmer. I think this blush is perfect for the warmer months.

The bronzer is warm-toned, and very pigmented. You only need the smallest amount on your brush to give you a sun-kissed glow. It can also be used for subtle contouring, just make sure you blend it out so you don't look streaky. "Sunshine" is the only colour this product comes in, and it's designed to suit all skintones. Again, there are the same shimmery, glittery particles in the pan that are in the blush, but it doesn't translate to glitter on the face.

I really love the packaging of these products; the cardboard boxes they're housed in are made from 100% recycled materials. The actual plastic containers are really sturdy. I love the design with the logo, I think it's really cute. The products are 15g, and the pans are really large, making it perfect to swirl your brushes in.

I have also been trying out the Natural Mineral Lip Shine in "Argyle Pink".
The lip shine is packed with moisturising oils; almond oil, safflower seed oil, watermelon seed oil, apricot seed oil, grape seed oil, shea butter, vitamin e. Similarly to the Moogoo cowlick lip balm, all ingredients are edible as "lip products get eaten....slowly".
The lip shine looks really dark in the tube, but is not that pigmented at all, and really sheer on the lips. It does add a little bit of sparkle, so I think it would work really well on top of a berry or pink lipstick, or on its own if you're after a bit more than your standard lip balm.

Haul and Mini Reviews: MooGoo Skincare*

Moogoo is a brand I have definitely spoken about before. I love their eczema and psoriasis cream for calming down eczema flare-ups in Winter. I love that they're Australian, use natural products, and are totally honest about every ingredient used in their products.
Their products used to be a lot more difficult to find, only really being available at specialty chemists or on their website. Priceline now stock them though, making it so much easier to pick some up!

I was really excited when Moogoo sent me a basket of some of their products to try out, and share with all of you!

Skin Milk Udder Cream - this was the product that started it; packed with oils it helps to soothe and moisturise the skin. I've heard a lot of good things from people using this on their face, so I can't wait to get some more use out of it.

How Now Brown Cow Gradual Tanning Cream - I've only ever used Dove's gradual tanning lotions, and found them to leave me really streaky. The reviews I've read from this say it works in one go, so now that it's Summer I'm keen to give it a go.

Milk Wash - I love, love, love this product! I keep this pump bottle in my shower, and apply it instead of shower gel/soap. My eczema flared up quite badly when we had that cold snap at the end of September, and to my surprise this really helped to restore moisture to my painful skin and soothe and calm the attack.

Fresh Cream Deodorant - aluminium free deodorant. It should be noted that this is not an anti-perspirant. Rather, this product works to kill off any odour-causing bacteria that live in your pits. Unlike any other deodorant I've used, this one has a really natural scent to it.

Shea Sorbet - this is an intense moisturising butter balm with lime essential oils. I love that this can be used anywhere; from cracked heels, dry elbows, to chapped lips. It is really thick, but does sink in relatively quickly, and th elime essential oils make it smell really good.

Cow Lick Lip Balm - This lip balm is made from all-edible ingredients, as 'what goes on the lips gets eaten'. This lip balm is packed with oils, making it really hydrating. It's not greasy, but does take a while to sink into the lips, making it perfect for before bed applications.

3 Vitamins Eye Serum - This contains vitamins B5, C and E, and aims to improve the appearance of fine lines and pigmentation. The consistency of this product is quite watery, which is unlike any eye cream I've used before. The bottle also squirts out a little more than you need, so I applied some to dry patches around my nose. I was really happy when I woke up in the morning to find the dry patches healed up!

My MAC 15 Palette

MAC is one of those brands that I have dreamed of adding to my collection for years. Unfortunately, they are so expensive in Australia that I cannot justify paying for their products, when I know how much cheaper they are overseas.

I had a friend recently visit America, and she very kindly offered to buy me some stuff over there.
Unfortunately, our dollar is so weak at the moment that there wasn't much cosmetic-wise that would be worth me buying. Except for MAC. MAC is so ridiculously over-priced here, that even with our rubbish dollar, there are significant savings when it's purchased overseas.

So I did a lot of research, and ended up asking for a paint pot, two lipsticks, and a custom 15 palette.

Paint pot in 'painterly' - this is the perfect eyeshadow base. It covers the veins that show through on my eyelids and is really creamy, so eyeshadow sticks to it nicely.

So many pretty colours!

Top row: Blanc type - shroom - honey lust - all that glitters - quarry
Middle row: sable - mythology - cranberry - woodwinked - satin taupe
Bottom row: omega - wedge - espresso - ground brown - carbon

I actually picked a different colour to blanc type, but that was the one the salesperson gave my friend. It's a really pretty highlight colour.

I've been using this palette pretty exclusively since I got it (about a month now) and I am really happy with the colours I picked. These colours are great for work - I love that there are so many colours that look amazing on their own, or I can blend a few together for a more full eyeshadow look. I really love Carbon on my lashline instead of eyeliner - it's just a bit softer, which is great for daytime.

Do you have any MAC eyeshadows? Which are your favourite colours?

Lush Haul!

I recently treated myself to a mini lush haul, for no particular reason. The house we recently moved in to now has a bath, a luxury I haven't had since I moved out of my parent's home over 5 years ago, so I was keen to try out some of Lush's bath bombs.

I fell in love with the scent of the "Tisty Tosty" bath bomb (the white heart with rose petals), and it's just so damn pretty. Lush says that rose eases tension and stress, and gives people happy, positive feelings. Sounds perfect for a Sunday night treat.

I also had to get the "Sex bomb" bath bomb (top left). This has jasmine-clary sage and ylang ylang, which are apparently aphrodisiacs. I don't know about that, again I just chose this one because I loved the scent. The guy at the store said this also turns your bath water pretty colours, and I'm down for that.

I also picked up a new shampoo bar - I love seanik, and heard that Copperhead is good for maintaining colour, so thought I would give it a whirl.

I also couldn't go past the Rose Jam Shower Gel that was stocked at the front counters. This smells exactly like the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner (one of my favourites), and hopefully is also quite moisturising.

What are your favourite lush products?

Priceline Skincare Haul 2015

Priceline had their annual skincare sale + beauty bag promotion a few weeks ago. I have bought these before, and also given other years' bags a miss. Even if the free bag is valued at $X, it is worthless if I'm not going to use the items. This promotional bag though had a lot of things in it that I actually would use, so I bought in to the promotion.

To qualify, I picked up two antipodes products I've wanted to try for a while, and another bottle of Dr Lewinn's 4 fusion cleansing oil.

From Antipodes I got the Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser, and the Aura Manuka Honey Mask. I love manuka honey, so can't wait to trial out this mask. I have been using the cream cleanser, and really like it so far.

So, onto what was in the bag:

Pure pawpaw ointment in watermelon flavour, Rosken intensive moisture hand cream, Jergens original beauty lotion, Sukin detoxifying clay masque; Rosehip nourising hand creme

Neutrogena deep clean facial cleanser; Palmer's shea butter formula with vitamin E; Biore' pore unclogging scrub

La roche-posay barrier repairing balm; Innoxa Organic brightening eye creme; L'oreal paris revitalift magic blur finishing cream; Dr Lewinn's multi-moisture balm; Thursday Plantation nurture oil.

Bioderma moisturising concentrate; Garnier miracle skin-cream; Orange zinc stick; Lanolips lip ointment with colour; Nivea unscented lip butter; Avene eau thermal spring water; Antipodes skin brightening serum; Burt's bees tinted lip balm;

Swisspers rosehip facial cleansing wipes; Formula 10.0.6 facial wipes; Swisspers make up pads; le tan fast tan tanning mouse.

Bondi Sands self-tanning mitt; Montagne Jeunesse blemish mud mask; Antipodes vanilla pod hydrating day cream.

Out of the entire bag, the only items I won't get use out of are the tanning products. I love that there's such a good mix of different types of skincare products (not all hand creams and face wipes for example).

Did you pick up the Priceline skincare bag? What did you purchase to redeem the offer? Have you tried any of these products before?

New In: Urban Decay!

Urban Decay finally graced Aussie shores last week, when it launched at Mecca Maxima nation-wide. I wasn't keen enough to line up and be the first to get through the door, but I did wander down during my lunch break and picked up two products I have wanted for years, but not bothered to get due to ridiculous exchange rates and long shipping times.

I don't think the Naked 3 needs any introductions.
I went with 3 over 2 - I already own 1, and 2 was a bit too similar to what I already own in my collection. 3 though... 3 has shades that are unlike anything that I own - beautiful, rosey-toned neutral shades. This palette will be perfect for work eyes, and I will be able to mix and match it with other eyeshadow shades that I already own.

I also picked up the Primer Potion in Eden; I have veins that show through my eyelids so I thought it would be a good idea to go with the primer that has a bit of concealer mixed in. The first time I used it though, it came out all separated. Is this normal? Looks like I'll have to remember to shake well before using.

Did you pick up anything in the Urban Decay launch? There are so many more products that I want!

Haul: Priceline 40% off Sale

Even when I feel like I'm restraining myself, I somehow manage to always walk out of Priceline's 40% off sales having spent more than I intended.

There were many more things I convinced myself to not buy than what I did buy, so I am happy about that. Sometimes Priceline's catalogue sales are actually better than 40% off (e.g. when their Maybelline mascaras are $10) so I tried to not get swept away in the hype.

I picked up two colours from Essie's Autumn collection; Dress to Kill (on the left) and the Perfect Cover Up (on the right). TPCU is a really beautiful deep, dark green that almost looks black in low lighting. I was also especially drawn to 'Rule of Plum' from the Sally Hansen Autumn collection.

Revlon released some new lipsticks; the 'HD Lipstick', so of course I had to get a few shades. I think it's a bit cute that every shade in the collection is named after a flower.

I was thrilled that my local Priceline still had plenty of the 'Miss Manga' Loreal mascara - I am really keen to test the 'Mega Volume' claims.
Annnnd some practical purchases - I always take these sales as an opportunity to stock up on my favourite foundation (because I refuse to pay RRP and it's always amazing to have backups on hand).

I have actually been loving the Loreal Volume Million Lashes mascara the past few months, but it was nowhere to be found in-store. So I picked up the trusty old Maybelline Falsies.

Can you tell I like volumising mascaras?

What did you pick up in the sales? Share your haul with me in the comments below!

Haul: Priceline's 40% off Skincare Sale

I love a good 40% off sale, and Priceline have a couple throughout the year. I headed into my local store to take advantage of their latest 40% off sale on skincare.
I'm proud to say that I really restrained myself, and bought mostly practical items. I'm really happy with my current skincare routine, so admittedly restraining myself wasn't that difficult.

Banana Boat Faces SPF 50+
I have used Nivea's face sunscreen for a while, but decided to branch out and trial Banana Boat's version. This has a much higher SPF, is broad spectrum and is non-oily. It sinks into the skin quite quickly, making it easier to go ahead and apply my normal make-up over the top. This is also water resistant, with no added fragrances.

Banana Boat Everyday SPF 30+
I almost always apply sunscreen before going out, and I really wanted a lightweight sunscreen that I could wear every day. I decided to go with an SPF of 30+, rather than any higher - this is still broad spectrum and if I was going to be actually spending my day in the sun (like at the beach for example), I would probably apply a different, higher coverage. SPF 30+ is more than enough for every-day sunscreen.

Cancer Council Everyday Sunscreen SPF 30+
So I'm starting to look a little sun-phobic right about now...
I only picked this one up because it's a teeny tiny version. A few times this Summer I've caught myself out and about and haven't had sunscreen or put it on that morning. So I thought this would be a good size to carry around with me in Summer.

Bioderma Sensibo H20
I already have some of this at home, but picked up another bottle to take advantage of the 40% off.

Milk&Co Rejuvinating Masque
I really like the milk&co facial cleanser (reviewed here), so when I saw that Priceline stock the brand I impulse bought this face mask. This is an exfoliating, hydrating mask for dry skin and contains fruit extracts, vitamin e and green tea.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid
I love, love, love the lanolips 101 ointment in Peach flavour, so impulse-bought the "lemonaid" flavour. This contains organic lemon oil, so exfoliates your lips as well as treats them for dryness. It leaves a high gloss on your lips, and the scent of lemon is high. I absolutely love this product - although I wonder about whether the citrus would make your lips more susceptible to sunburn. To stay on the safe side, I would only use this indoors.

Mini Haul! Priceline Haircare

A little while ago Priceline had a 40% off all haircare sale. As well as picking up some more hair dye, I also grabbed a few products that I’d had my eye on for a while.

My much-loved Tresemme heat protector ran out, so I went with something different and got the Keratin Smooth version. There’s a little bit of aprice difference between this one and the ordinary one, and apart from this one being labelled "keratin smooth" not much of a difference apparently. I honestly think it’s a little heavy for my hair, and I much prefer the original version.

I have plentyyy of hairsprays, but I actually don’t really own a lightweight one for everyday. This Loreal Elnett Satin spray is exactly what I was after – it’s lightweight which makes it great for holding waves, and it actually brushes out really easily (don’t you hate it when they claim to brush out but they really don’t?). I find it works best on day old (or two days old) hair, because the dirt provides a little extra hold, but for the most part I really like this. I also really like the sleek gold can it comes in.

I don’t really have a problem with sulfates, but I liked the claims that this Loreal shampoo made in terms of colour protecting. Unfortunately, red pigment washes out way too easily, so I thought buying a less harsh shampoo would help with some colour retention. Haven’t tested out that theory yet, but I’ll update once I do!

REVIEW | Popbasic: The Jane Collection

As soon as I saw the Jane collection on the Popbasic website, I fell in love!
If you haven't heard of Popbasic, basically all you need to know is, it's run by Maddie, and the idea is that limited edition micro-collections are released each month. If you're a member you'll get an email sent to you at the launch of each micro-collection and if you like it, you buy it (worldwide shipping is free)! That simple! The pieces are ... you guessed it, basics so they're designed to fit into your already-existing wardrobe, and by buying the collections you also build up your wardrobe with high quality, one-of-a-kind designer pieces.

So...what was the Jane collection?

A gorgeous blush-pink t-shirt made from a rayon-spandex blend, a basic black pencil skirt and a loop necklace. The pieces are amazing quality for the price, and I love that I'll get so much wear out of them. The whole outfit together is perfect for work, but I've also broken it up and worn the shirt out during the week with jeans.

As well as the micro-collection you also receive small gifts from partnering companies, which is a really nice surprise.

And probably the best thing of all is the customer service. When I hadn't received my order 3 weeks after ordering it, Maddy sorted it out no problem and sent me a brand new order (which arrived within the week). There's a handwritten card in each order as well, which is a really personal touch.

Also, if you join as a member with this link you'll get $15 to put towards your next order! (Score!) This is part of the Popbasic referral program; if you click through on my link, I'll also get $15 for my next order (yippee!). This referral program is open to everyone, so once you join you can let your friends know and the sharing and discounts and love continues!
