My Week in Pictures #75

We spent Sunday celebrating J's birthday a bit early - grill'd burgers for lunch, escaped from a puzzle room at Para-Park (seriously so much fun - cannot recommend highly enough) and then finished up at Zanzibar's rooftop before retiring home.

How beautiful was Sydney this weekend? This weather is amazing! Bring on more Spring!

Week in Pictures #67

Gorgeous decorations and delicious strawberry cake at a friend's engagement party last weekend - I feel like I have so many engagement parties and weddings going on in my life right now and it makes me so happy to see my friends so happy and with the loves of their lives! (Although it is a bit expensive for me ha ha)

And speaking of true love - on Saturday J and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary!
We had such an amazing day visiting the Aquarium, and the Sydney Wildlife Park before heading out to dinner at Onyx in Newtown.

So many cute animals - blows my mind that we have a little zoo right in the heart of the city! The quokkas and the wombat were probably my favourite.

So much good food - burgers for lunch from Grill'd;
we dined at Onyx at Newtown; the deep-fried brie was easily the best dish. We also got the chicken quesadillas, and the pulled pork main to share. Our order got screwed up by the manager so we also got some free chicken croquettes, hurrah!

Apple ciders in glasses and finishing the night off with drippy gelato - best!

My Week in Pictures #49

The weather is getting cooler, and my leather jacket has officially come out of the wardrobe. I am just so, so obsessed with these Black Milk Game of Thrones tights. I might need to go back and get the green pair? Wahhh I think an addiction has begun. Started reading book 3.2 in the series and loving it so far.

I briefly took a break last weekend (11th-13th April) from the cold weather and headed up to sunny Queensland - my mama got married! She looked absolutely stunning and the smiles on both their faces was beautiful! :)

It was at a boat club, so the ceremony looked out over this stunning view. Mother Nature gave us a fantastic sunset. My sister and I were both bridesmaids, as were the groom's two daughters. I really wish I had more photos, but I left my camera at mum's place when we came back :(
Instead of bouquets we had these really pretty wicker hearts with sea-shells!

Back to reality, and I've spent most of the Easter long weekend chained to my desk, trying to catch up on the uni work I fell behind in during the mad rush of mid-semester assignments.
Had a lot of back-and-forth emailing with the subject co-ordinator for Business Law. There was an online test on the 10th April, but I couldn't access it. I was then flying out on the 11th, so couldn't do it then either. I applied for academic consideration - obviously it was the university's fault that I couldn't access the portal to do the test in. Spent most of last week trying to get access, again, to no avail. So I am getting a question emailed to me today at 3pm and I have 45 minutes to answer it and email it back. Talk about stressful. Wish me luck!

Feeling pretty pleased with myself that I got this 8 angle yoga pose on my first try! I think I'm relying too much on arm and core strength though, and not squeezing enough with my legs. Practice, practice, practice and I'll get there.

On Friday J and I celebrated our five year anniversary!

Unfortunately the restaurant we were planning on going to for dinner has closed down. So we headed off to a local park for a lunch-time picnic instead!

We played some cards, drank some sparkling grape juice (like the responsible adults we are) and ate lots of food. It was a perfect low-key afternoon hanging out with each other.

My Week in Pictures #49

I've spent a lot of the past week poring over text books, and rush-finishing assignments. Rommy has kept me company through it all. I've also started reading the Secret Garden. I loved this film when I was a kid, and it's great to now revisit it as an adult.

I took these photos on my walk over to my Dad's place. There's two different ways for me to get to his on foot, and both of them have pretty things to look at.

J found the laser pointer we bought in Bali, and Rommy had a great deal of fun with it. The multiple lights confused the hell out of him, and had us in hysterics.

I've been obsessed with this lip colour - Shameless from the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm range.

Wasn't sure if I could actually pull of purple, but I really love it. Must be my inner goth again.

My Week in Pictures #48

I took an unexpected and unplanned hiatus from the blog last week.
Uni is starting to get crazy...

I've even taken to completing assignments in the back room while on my lunch break at work.

Speaking of work, I had my last official days at Kikki as a manager over the weekend. I'm now back to being a casual which is nice, because not having a single day off was starting to get me down.

Politically, the past week has been a bit of a mindf-ck. Mr Abbott reintroduced dames and knights into Australia and apparently we all now have the right to be bigots. Hooray! (obvious facetiousness) I engaged in one too many twitter debates over the topic this past week. You cannot change people's minds when they do not want them changed.

Speaking of Kikki K, I'm obsessed with this 3pk of fashion notebooks we have in at the moment. They are just so pretty!

I also did a bit of shopping in my lunch break last week, and I can't wait to share what I got!

Is anyone else a bit over the stormy, rainy weather we've had lately? I think I need to pick up some little ankle booties to wear to work for the rain!

I also got this really cute surprise present from one of the girls at work! There was the cutest mug inside, and what a sweetie - she had added in a little tea selection for me! Adorable, and so thoughtful!

We buy the Entertainment book every year, and it came with a coupon for Grilled! So J and I had a cute lunch date there in the city. Best thing? We only paid for one meal!

One of our favourite lazy-night dinners is this semi-homemade pizzas. We buy the base from Woolies (which is just a standard cheese pizza) then we add our own meat and salad on top. Super tasty, and really quick to make.

And my latest pole accomplishment!  I love this move because it's pure strength. I even shocked myself getting this one because it's one I've wanted for so long, but it has continued to elude me. I don't know what it was, but something clicked and bam those hips came off the floor. Successful cup grip shoulder-mount!!

What did you get up to in the past week?

My Weekend in Pictures #38

I spent the past weekend in Mudgee, for a work friend's 21st birthday. Mudgee is a quaint little town, about a 4 hour drive North West from Sydney, in central Western NSW. L (whose birthday it was), grew up here, so took us all up to see her home town and celebrate her birthday. It was such a fantastic weekend; not only was it really nice to just get away from life for a couple of days and spend it with a couple of the work girls, but it was really cool getting to see where L grew up...I finally had an actual image in my head now of places and people she'd talked about.

We headed down to the markets on Saturday, before returning back to L's to set up for the party. There was lots of cute items here, and lots of homemade food and wine. I also found this awesome vintage camera. Of course I had to buy it. Although the film is no longer made for it, I may be able to use a different sized film...so that will be a fun experiment!

I picked up some seeds to bring home as a present for J

That night we celebrated L's 21st ... it was an absolutely gorgeous party; lanterns in the trees, fresh flowers and fruit punch adorned the tables, and fire pits to sit next to and be warm.

Before heading home on Sunday we had lunch at High Valley; a vineyard and cheese factory.

Where we sat and ate lunch was cute, and the food was amazing...I may have bought some tomato fetta to bring home with me.

On the drive home we stopped at Capertee Valley and I snapped this photo of the world's widest canyon:

Such a cute weekend getaway; even though Mudgee is a small town there's plenty to explore. Even just looking at these photos is making me nostalgic, and I can't wait to go back again and explore more of it.
